Washington Capitals’ Tomas Vokoun changes agents

It was clear in his first conference call with Washington reporters that goaltender Tomas Vokoun, whom General Manager George McPhee nabbed for a bargain-basement one-year, $1.5 million deal on July 2, was disappointed he didn’t receive a plethora of lucrative offers.

Less than a month after signing that deal with the Capitals, Vokoun has switched agents. The 35-year-old Czech fired Michael Deutsch is now represented by Octagon’s Allan Walsh, who announced the news on Twitter.

Walsh also tweeted that Vokoun told him: “I’m coming to Washington to help win a Cup.”
