Well, so much for the lines the Capitals used late in Sunday’s win carrying over in to Monday’s practice. Coach Adam Oates went back to the combinations that he started the past two games with, including Alex Ovechkin on the left wing with Jay Beagle and Joey Crabb.
It’s an interesting move, considering that the lines they finished the game with, featuring Ovechkin with Nicklas Backstrom and Troy Brouwer, seemed to work rather well together.
Here’s what the lines and pairings look like this morning:
Ovechkin-Beagle-Crabb
Wolski-Backstrom-Brouwer
Chimera-Ribeiro-Ward
Hendricks-Perreault/Johansson-Fehr
Alzner-Green
Erskine-Carlson
Schultz-Kundratek
Poti-Hamrilk
Goal: Neuvirth, Holtby
