A brief break from actual news for an important uniform update: The Caps will again add a third jersey for seven road games this season.
The white jerseys resemble the team’s original sweater, worn from 1974-75 through 1994-95, and recreated for the 2011 Winter Classic in Pittsburgh (the Caps also wore the jerseys for several road games last season). They have the original Capitals wordmark with six stars above it and five stars beneath the numbers on each sleeve.
The Caps will wear red pants and white helmets with the jerseys. No word, however, on whether they’ll switch up the sock colors.
Here are the dates the Caps will go retro:
| Saturday, March 16 | at Boston Bruins | 1 p.m. | CSN |
| Tuesday, March 19 | at Pittsburgh Penguins | 7:30 p.m. | CSN |
| Thursday, March 21 | at Winnipeg Jets | 8 p.m. | CSN |
