After a day off the Capitals are back on the ice Monday in Arlington for a full practice before kicking off the final six games of the regular season, all of which come against opponents in the playoff hunt.

Some quick notes from today’s practice, which features the same lines as Saturday’s 6-5 overtime win against the Lightning:

>> Joel Ward skated gingerly for approximately 20 minutes in full gear before the team’s full practice began but the veteran winger did little more than take a few light laps. Ward has missed three games with a left knee contusion since blocking a shot by Lightning defenseman Sami Salo on April 7. There remains no time table for him to return.

>> Brooks Laich, who is sidelined indefinitely by a lower body/groin injury, is not on the ice. Laich hasn’t skated with the team since April 4 against the Islanders.

>> The only healthy player not on the ice Monday is defenseman Jack Hillen, who is back in Minnesota visiting his wife Caitlin and sons Finn and Knox. This is the first time Hillen had the opportunity to see newborn Knox, who was born on April 6 when the Capitals were in Florida to face the Panthers.

>> Aaron Volpatti is on the ice for practice, apparently no worse for wear after blocking a shot by Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas in the third period of Saturday’s game.

>> Here’s the Capitals’ forward lines, in case you need a refresher:

Johansson-Backstrom-Ovechkin
Erat-Ribeiro-Brouwer
Chimera-Perreault-Fehr
Volpatti-Hendricks-Beagle-Wolski rotating in
