The Capitals return home after their most lopsided win of the season, a 7-0 thrashing at Philadelphia that featured an alarming fight between Flyers goaltender Ray Emery and Caps netminder Braden Holtby – who wanted no part of the fight.
Emery, according to espn.com, will not be suspended by the NHL. Holtby (5-5-0, .921 save percentage) was to be a game-time decision against the Panthers. Michal Neuvirth (1-2-0 .905 save percentage) took shots at this morning’s skate.
And the Caps will again play without Alex Ovechkin, still nursing a bad shoulder. The goal: Have him practice with the team Monday and play Tuesday against the New York Islanders.
