Virginia LB Steve Greer and OT Oday Aboushi named to preseason all-ACC team

The ACC announced its preseason all-ACC team Wednesday and Virginia players on both sides of the ball were named to the list. Linebacker Steve Greer and left tackle Oday Aboushi represented the Cavaliers after both had strong seasons a year ago.

Greer finished with a team-high 103 tackles and was a second-team all-ACC selection in 2011, but he missed Virginia’s Chick-fil-A Bowl loss to Auburn with a partially torn ACL.

Aboushi started all 13 games last year and twice earned ACC offensive linemen of the week honors. He beat out teammate and right tackle Morgan Moses by one vote to make the preseason team. Running back Perry Jones (8) and tight end Colter Phillips also received votes.

Both Aboushi and Greer are team captains this season.

Florida State, Clemson and North Carolina led the league with four all-ACC selections.
