Soulja Boy arrested for marijuana possession

Soulja Boy. (Chris McKay - GETTY IMAGES) Soulja Boy has been arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a Temple Police Department spokesperson confirms to Celebritology.

The 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, and four other men were pulled over in Georgia around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for a traffic infraction, public information officer Dana Rampy said. Police found marijuana, handguns and cash in the car.

TMZ, the first outlet to report the news, puts the dollar amount at $70,000.

All five men were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Soulja Boy is being held in the Carroll County Jail.

A request for comment from the 21-year-old’s rep has not been returned.
