Boy band 98 Degrees is reuniting this summer for one performance at a music festival, brother-members Nick and Drew Lachey told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Wednesday.
The four man group, who helped populate middle school dance playlists of the early aughts, will play the Summer Mixtape Fest 2012 in Hershey, Penn. this August. Drew Lachey told Seacrest “this music festival ... seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels.”
Nick Lachey, whose wife Vanessa is pregnant with their first child, added, “We always said we were not broken up, we were just taking a break and now it just seemed like the right time to put everything back together.”
The festival’s lineup also includes the combined boy band power of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys, a.k.a NKOTBSB. The Wanted, a boy band whose members are much closer to being actual boys, will also perform, as will Kelly Clarkson and Carly Rae Jepsen.
