Adele’s tour rider requests: Donations to charity and no North American beer

British singer Adele. (Mario Anzuoni - Reuters)

There’s no such thing as a free ticket in Adele’s universe.

In the soul singer’s tour rider, obtained by the Smoking Gun, Adele demands that anyone who receives a complimentary ticket to her show give at least $20 in cash to Sands, a U.K. charity that offers grief counseling to anyone affected by the death of an infant and promotes research to prevent such deaths. This is non-negotiable.

Elsewhere in the rider, Adele, who is currently on recovering from vocal cord surgery, asks for “large mugs for tea,” “metal teaspoons,” a bottle of “best quality red wine,” a pack of cigarettes and a lighter (gasp!) and fruit of the non-citrus variety.

Also not up for discussion is the type of alcohol served to the Grammy nominee’s band. “Bottles of the best quality European lager” are asked for. “North American beer is NOT acceptable.”

Perhaps MMMhop will change her mind.
