Alec Baldwin condemned by NY Press Club; Aaron Sorkin kiss-firms Kristin Davis romance

A morning mix of entertainment headlines...

Alec Baldwin’s alleged assault of a New York Daily News photographer earlier this week has been condemned by the New York Press Club. The media organization released a statement yesterday that said Baldwin’s behavior “should not be tolerated.” (Associated Press)

While the Press Club and Daily News photographer Marcus Santos, who has filed a police complaint regarding the incident, clearly feel Baldwin did wrong, David Letterman is on Jack Donaghy’s side. During an appearance last night on the “Late Show,” Letterman repeatedly implied that the photographer overstepped his bounds with Baldwin. In yet another demonstration of solidarity, the host dropped his pants after watching Baldwin do so to demonstrate the degree of his weight loss. See some of the interview in the clip below, or in this video of the full episode. (The Late Show)

Aaron Sorkin kissed Kristin Davis on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of his series, “The Newsroom,” seemingly verifying that the two are indeed an item. That’s a kiss-confirmation ... or just a kiss-firmation? (Speaking of “The Newsroom,” here’s a review from the Post’s Hank Stuever.) (Daily Mail)

Katy Perry is launching her own record label. “When this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success,” she says. Translation: cupcake and gumdrop dresses for all! (The Hollywood Reporter)

Have you been wondering what Michael Fassbender says in that alien language in “Prometheus”? His words have now been translated and they ... answer nothing. But they’re kind of interesting. (Movieline)

Even when they’re handling a mild question about who they would like to go on a double date with, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are completely awkward about their offscreen romance in a totally adorable way. Here’s the evidence. (Showbiz 411)

Nicolas Winding Refn, director of “Drive,” is executive producing a TV adaptation of the sci-fi classic “Barbarella.” (TV Rage)
