Prepare your MP3 devices and smartphones, ladies and gentlemen, because Alec Baldwin has announced a new venture: Public radio podcast host.
The “30 Rock” actor will helm “Here’s The Thing,” a podcast interview series at public radio station WNYC. Baldwin will chat with interesting people in their homes, offices and other rooms they frequent, beginning with Michael Douglas on Oct. 24.
Future guests include Chris Rock, Ed Rollins and Kris Kardashian Jenner. It’s anyone’s guess what the Emmy-winner will discuss with Kardashian matriarch.
The once-a-week podcast may eventually be heard on radio, but there are no current plans, the Associated Press reported.
Baldwin plans to leave “30 Rock” at the end of its upcoming sixth season. But he told the AP that he’s open to returning as Jack Donaghy, the character he plays on the show, occasionally.
“I wouldn’t want to prevent them from having another year, because they’re all my friends and they’ve been good to me,” he said. “Maybe I would do a piece of the year. But I really do want to move on to other things.”
One of those things is politics. Baldwin has openly discussed his desire to run for New York City mayor sometime in the future. “It’s like the difference between going to Jon Stewart and Jim Lehrer,” he told the AP. “The jokes have to stop, everything has to be on the record.”
