Amy Winehouse cancels gigs after incoherent performance; Tone Loc arrested

Remember when Amy Winehouse checked herself back into rehab to make sure she was squeaky clean for some upcoming concert dates? Yeah, that clearly didn’t work out so well. She drunkenly stumbled and mumbled her way through a performance over the weekend in Belgrade (see video below) and was reportedly booed off stage. She also reportedly greeted the crowd by saying ”Hello, Athens.” She has canceled upcoming gigs in Istanbul and Athens (the real one, not Belgrade-pretending-to-be-Athens) and plans to resume performing on July 8 in Spain. Rapper Tone Loc — best known for doing the “Wild Thing” and warning a generation of the potential dangers of “Funky Cold Medina” — was arrested Saturday on suspicion of domestic violence after an alleged altercation with the mother of his child. The 45-year-old was being held on $50,000 bail at a Burbank jail. (MSNBC)

“Vampire Diaries” stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev took their romance public, arriving together at the MuchMusic Video Awards. (Us)

Evangeline Lilly has been cast in “The Hobbit” as a new character: a Woodland elf named Tauriel. (Her former boyfriend and “Lost” co-star, Dominic Monaghan — who played Merry in the “Lord of the Rings” films — must be having a chuckle over this.) (Popeater)
