Anne Hathaway is aware that some people aren’t happy with the first photo of the Catwoman suit she dons in “The Dark Knight Rises,” released last week.
“I was not going to admit it: I asked someone to send me a few reactions” to the photo, the actress told MTV. Although Celebritology abstained from making a judgment about the costume (which, come on, is barely visible in the promo photo), others were more vocal about their dislike.
“What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do,” she said. “And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”
That’s true. A still photo of the suit undoubtedly does not do it justice. You can actually see more of the suit thanks to some very industrious Pittsburgh residents who have taken pictures from the set. And after viewing those photos, I’m firmly for this suit.
Yes, this Catwoman seems to be less sex kitten than her predecessors, but is that a bad thing? Why should Selina Kyle have to show her belly button in order to be a great, sultry villain? The only thing I hope to see in the future? Cat ears.
