Brad Pitt says marriage to Jennifer Aniston played role in boring life during the ‘90s

Interviews with Brad Pitt have been plentiful this week as the actor makes the press rounds to promote “Moneyball.” And while “Entertainment Weekly” scores points for featuring a ruggedly good looking Pitt on the cover (seriously, is the man actually Benjamin Button?), Parade magazine has quite a quote from the actor about his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.

He told Dotson Rader in an interview with Parade:

I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.

From the usually very private celeb, this is a surprisingly honest and open statement. (Perhaps a little too much so?)

Now the actor’s a “satisfied man,” living quite the hectic existence with Angelina Jolie. Pitt said he’s quite happy he gave his “kids Angie as their mom.” He also reports that the two have not split up, will get married when all people are allowed to do so, and do not have a seventh child.
