What are these rumors based on? The fact that Cooper, 37, and Lopez, 42, had dinner together Saturday at Per Se, a New York restaurant. A source tells People that the meal was purely business-oriented and that the two were meeting to discuss a potential project.
TMZ, on the other hand, reports that the dinner definitely was “romantic.” And you know that has to be true because TMZ has paired the story with a composite photo of Lopez and Cooper smiling at each other, which is Internet-ese for “This is, like, a fact.”
Given the number of times Cooper has been supposedly linked to a fellow female purely because they were spotted together in public — please see Jennifer Aniston, Olivia Wilde, whoever this person is — it’s natural to be skeptical. It is intriguing, however, that Lopez shares both a name with and a passing resemblance to Cooper’s ex-wife, Jennifer Esposito.
If Lopez and Cooper were, hypothetically, to become a couple, would you approve? Would you refresh Celebritology incessantly on the faint hope that we might have posted an item about where they recently ate knishes together? Would we have to refer to them as J. Lo and B. Coop?
I don’t know the answers. But for now, feel free to vote in this poll below.
