Carly Rae Jepsen will appear on ‘90210’

Carly Rae Jepsen — the singer responsible for planting the inescapable earworm “Call Me Maybe” inside our cochleas, where it shall remain for the foreseeable future — will appear this fall on an episode of “90210.”

I assume she’ll be singing at the Peach Pit After Dark, and that Nat and Steve Sanders will create their own, awesome lip dub video of “Call Me Maybe,” and that David Silver will write a hip-hop mash-up called “Donna Martin Graduates, so Call Me Maybe,” and that —

Wait, she’s going to be on the new-ish “90210” that airs on the CW, not Fox’s “Beverly Hills, 90210” from the 1990s?

Oh. Well. That’s ... exciting?

According to TVLine, Jepsen’s episode will air Oct. 8 and cast her as the “headliner at Adrianna’s Las Vegas premiere, which is interrupted when news gets out about Dixon’s car accident.”

I have no idea what any of that means, but I assume Jepsen will sing “Call Me Maybe” as part of this installment.

Actually, wait, TVLine’s post says her song has “yet to be determined.”

You know what? I’m going to go back to pretending Jepsen will play the Peach Pit, and that her episode will involve some shenanigans in which both Kelly and Brenda tell Dylan to call them, maybe, and that Color Me Badd will show up for no apparent reason, and that Jepsen will perform while wearing this dress, which both Kelly and Brenda will also be wearing.

Yes, I like that version better. And the best part is that I don’t have to wait until Oct. 8 to see it because it’s airing right now in my mind.
