Charlie Sheen files for divorce

Less than a week after Charlie Sheen was hospitalized in New York after allegedly cavorting with a porn star and wrecking a hotel room, the "Two and a Half Men" star has filed for divorce from his third wife, Brooke Mueller.

Sheen cited irreconcilable differences in his divorce filing. He also seeks joint custody of the couple's twin sons but, according to the Associated Press, asked the judge not to award his wife any spousal support.

TMZ is speculating that Sheen filed for divorce to avoid Mueller talking about it on her upcoming reality show. How filing for divorce would actually prevent her from talking about it, we're not sure. But we can certainly understand how Sheen would want to avoid making a spectacle of his life.

In August, Sheen pleaded guilty to assault in connection with a Christmas 2009 domestic dispute involving Mueller. He was sentenced to 30 days of rehab as well as 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management classes.
