Chloe Sevigny to join ‘American Horror Story' cast?

Entertainment Weekly reports that the former “Big Love” star — recently seen in a prominent guest appearance on “Law & Order: SVU” — is in negotiations to join the FX as a character named Shelly the Nymphomaniac.

Yes, if this were any other show, that name would make me believe this news has been broken by the Onion rather than EW. But since “American Horror Story” is a Ryan Murphy enterprise, this all makes total sense.

Assuming the deal gets done, Sevigny will join returning cast members Evan Peters, Zachary Quinto and Jessica Lange — who EW says will be Shelly the Nympho’s nemesis — as well as recently announced new co-star Adam Levine.

As previously made clear, next season’s “Horror Story” will focus on an entirely different setting, narrative arc and set of characters who have nothing to do with the Harmons or the Murder House of season one.

Murphy revealed last week during a TV Academy panel in L.A. that the new setting will be a mental institution run by Lange’s yet-to-be-named character and that it will be located on the East Coast.

When she isn’t at a movie theater or writing about movies, Jen Chaney is ... um ... probably at home, watching a movie.
