‘Community’: The cast engages in pop culture trivia war (Video)

The cast of “Community.” (Lewis Jacobs - LEWIS JACOBS/NBC)

The good people at New York Magazine’s Vulture blog have done something particularly brilliant today: They’ve posted a video in which cast members from “Community” engage in a heated battle for pop culture knowledge supremacy.

Show creator Dan Harmon serves as moderator in a fight to the trivia death that pits team Karate Dog (Joel McHale, Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs and Jim Rash) against team The Hilarious Hive on Jive Featuring Eldridge Cleaver (Chevy Chase, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown and Danny Pudi).

In addition to allowing you, the Web video viewer, to determine whether your memory of “Say Anything. . . ” and “It’s a Different World” is superior to the cast of this NBC sitcom, the clip also reveals that: Chevy Chase knows more about “Pretty Woman” than you might have thought; the female cast members are well versed on “Sweet Valley High” and Anne Heche alien alter egos; and surprisingly, no one can remember the name of Bill and Ted’s band. (They are . . . Wyld Stallyns! Come on, you guys!)

Watch the video below, which contains just a couple of salty, NSFW words, and enjoy. It will make you feel better about your day. And it also may make you angrier about “Community’s” midseason removal from the air.
