Letting audiences know how long they have until the band takes the stage is a really great idea.

David Cross and Amber Tamblyn are engaged

David Cross and Amber Tamblyn have a wedding to plan.

The man who raised public awareness of never-nudes in his role as Tobias Fünke on “Arrested Development” and the star of “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” are engaged, People and other outlets report. According to Life and Style, the couple has been engaged for several weeks but kept the news private. No word on when the proposal took place or a wedding date.

Cross, 47, and Tamblyn, 28, have been dating since 2009, the same year they attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner together. Tamblyn most recently played med student Martha Masters on “House,” while Cross currently stars in IFC’s “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.”

Let’s borrow the parlance of Mr. Fünke and wish the couple a hearty “huzzah!” Presumably Cross is as excited about his engagement as his “Development” alter ego once was about the prospect of a fire sale (see below).
