The historic New York theater where the “Late Show with David Letterman” tapes was vandalized Sunday night.

Surveillance video reportedly shows a male kicking through one of the glass-panel doors at the Ed Sullivan Theater’s entrance, according to the New York Post. The man then used the velvet-rope stanchion in the lobby to damage the other doors and the box office. The suspect did not reach Letterman’s set.

Police have arrested James Whittemore in connection with the break-in. It is believed the 22-year-old, who is reportedly a struggling actor, was intoxicated at the time.

But, as the saying goes, the show must go on. “Letterman” will tape as usual Monday, CBS and Worldwide Pants said in a statement.
