David Lynch opens Paris nightclub

David Lynch. (Stephen Hilger - BLOOMBERG NEWS)
David Lynch, famed director , transcendental meditation enthusiast and seller of coffee, has opened a members only club in Paris called Silencio. Naturally, this is not an ordinary place.

Lynch designed every inch of the space, inspired by the club in his film, “Mulholland Drive.” He did not attend its opening Wednesday.

The Guardian U.K. reports the hangout you must apply to to enter includes “Buddhist cocktail bars with their own bijoux cinemas, library, dream forest and stage straight from Twin Peaks.

“The effect is somewhere between nirvana, a classy Cincinnati cocktail bar circa 1975, and Goldie's mouth.”

Lynch told the Le Express, “The decor of the club is sophisticated and warm ...It must feel like a womb, awaiting imminent birth.” I’m just glad it doesn’t look like Black Lodge’s red room.
