Demi Lovato sings ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at World Series (video)

Demi Lovato performed the national anthem Monday at game 5 of the World Series.

Did the former Disney star step up to the plate?

Well, it’s fair to say she delivered quite a different performance than “New Girl” Zooey Deschanel, who sang the “Star Spangled Banner” on Sunday.

Lovato’s rendition was a traditional, belt-y version of the anthem, that (don’t hate me!) verged on screechy at some points. But it certainly packed the Whitney Houston-esque vocal punch that many expect from the stadium song.

Hopefully it will please the Deschanel-detractors, who found her performance lacking in diva-ness.
