Diddy okay after car wreck; video shown at Justin Timberlake wedding sparks controversy

A morning mix of entertainment headlines...

Diddy: doing fine after car wreck. (Charles Sykes - Charles Sykes/INVISION/AP)

Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly fine after a car accident Wednesday in which a Lexus hit his Cadillac Escalade in L.A. The Associated Press reports that no one was hospitalized and that Diddy planned to seek medical attention on his own. Based on TMZ’s photos, however, the front of Diddy’s car got badly damaged. Another day, another potential celebrity-related lawsuit. This time it’s an attorney for Justin Huchel, a longtime friend of Justin Timberlake, who made an incredibly tasteless video that was shown at the recent wedding of Timberlake and Jessica Biel . The clip — which was obtained by Gawker — starts out by promising “Greetings from your Hollywood friends who just couldn’t make it,” then shows several homeless people sending the couple congratulatory messages. In short, it’s pretty awful. Gawker has posted a 20-second portion of the eight-minute video despite having received a letter that threatens the Web site with a lawsuit. Michael J. Saltz, an attorney for Huchel, said in a letter to Gawker writer John Cook that the video was stolen from his client and not meant to be publicly shown. “Specifically, Mr. Huchel made a video to be used and exhibited privately at Justin Timberlake’s wedding as a private joke without Mr. Timberlake’s knowledge,” Saltz writes, adding that if Gawker does not destroy all copies of the video, Huchel and his attorney will seek “all legal remedies at our disposal.” (Gawker; New York Daily News)

Justin Bieber will appear on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on Nov. 25, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. In the episode, the Biebs and Oprah Winfrey chat, attend Bieber’s concert and go holiday shopping together at a Ralph Lauren store. Hopefully they also stop somewhere to buy some new electronic equipment to replace the items allegedly stolen from Bieber. (Digital Spy)

FYI: Reese Witherspoon may record a duet with Michael Buble. All of our mothers-in-law will be super-excited about this! (Us Weekly)

Cameron Crowe apparently wants Bradley Cooper to star opposite Emma Stone in his next project, which Deadlines describes as a movie with a “tone reminiscent of past Crowe films ‘Almost Famous’ and ‘Jerry Maguire.’” So it basically has the same tone as every Crowe film, then? (Deadline)

Here’s the first trailer for the forthcoming remake of “Evil Dead.” I didn’t embed it here because it’s red-band and also may scare the h-e-double hockey sticks out of some people. But it’s on YouTube, and it’s pretty gross.(SonyPictures YouTube channel)

In honor of “Cloud Atlas,” Grantland has composed a list of impossible screen adaptations that actually happened, for better (“American Psycho") as well as worse (“Watchmen”). (Grantland)
