Donald Driver wins ‘Dancing With the Stars’; Will Smith talks about slapping reporter

Will Smith (sort of, kind of) talked to David Letterman about why he gave a reporter who attempted to kiss him a light slap. “It’s just awkward, Dave,” Smith said of the “joker’s” attempt to smooch him. “[Organizers] said, ‘We’re sorry. It’s just his schtick,’” Smith explained. “And I said, ‘Well that’s why his [butt] got schtuck.’” Watch the clip, which has one NSFW word toward the end, at the link. (Mediaite)

In a truly inspired bit of casting, Zach Galifianakis has reportedly been tapped to play Ignatius J. Reilly in a film adaptation of “A Confederacy of Dunces.” “Muppets” screenwriter James Bobin is in talks to write the film. While past “Dunces” projects have had issues getting off the ground, it would truly be a crime if this Galifianakis-led film didn’t come to fruition. (Vulture)

New Yorkers who love Beastie Boy Adam Yauch have started a campaign to rename a Brooklyn Heights park in his honor. The group originally wanted to rename Squibb Park for MCA, but abandoned this plan after hearing from Kathleen Hanna, wife of Adam “Ad-Rock” Horowitz, about a plan to fix up State Street Park, where Yauch played as a child.
