Ryan Gosling’s “Drive” is inspiring some wacky behavior.

The Ryan Gosling-led thriller “Drive” is inspiring a variety of emotions from the people who view it. For some critics, it was disgust at the amount of violence. One Michigan woman was moved to file a lawsuit over the film’s lack of driving.
It also inspired courage from Brandon Kelly, the man who threw a hot dog at Tiger Woods during the Frys.com Open earlier this week.
“I threw the hot dog toward Tiger Woods because I was inspired by the movie ‘Drive,’” Kelly told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. “As soon as the movie ended, I thought to myself, ‘I have to do something courageous and epic. I have to throw a hot dog on the green in front of Tiger.’”
Kelly declined to elaborate further.
As a person who has seen the film, I can report that at no point does Gosling’s character, known only as Driver, throw a hot dog. The ballpark staple does not even appear in the film, to the best of my recollection. But Driver does become a hero. And maybe that’s all that Kelly wanted to do, too. Maybe next time he can find a better outlet for his newfound courage.
