Eddie Murphy to host Oscars?; ‘The Help’ wins the box office

Eddie Murphy will reportedly be suggested to host the Oscars ceremony Tuesday by the show’s producer, Brett Ratner. He’s no Oprah, but I can see the appeal. Update: It’s official. (Deadline)

The Help ” once again came in No. 1 at the box office, taking in $19 million over the Labor Day weekend. The Helen Mirren-led thriller “The Debt” debuted in second place, while space horror movie “Apollo 18” came in third. (Associated Press.)
