After being forced to cancel three Las Vegas concerts over a “serious respiratory infection” that landed him in the hospital, Elton John is feeling fit enough to perform for the Queen.
The singer is at home in England and “feeling much better,” according to a message on his Web site.
John’s husband David Furnish confirmed that his spouse is on the mend. He told reporters (via the BBC) that John is “doing incredibly well and recovering.”
It’s a good thing, too, because John is set to perform at Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee concert on Monday, as are Paul McCartney, Shirely Bassey, Annie Lennox and a number of other musicians.
Naturally, the “Rocket Man” singer is, according to his Web site, “very excited” about the performance. I’d say his fans feel the same way about his return to health.
