Ethan Zohn, ‘Survivor’ winner, says cancer has returned

Ethan Zohn (Evan Agostini - AP)
Ethan Zohn’s cancer has returned, the “Survivor” winner confirmed to People.

“I was just angry,” the 37-year-old told the magazine. “I was scared that I was going to die.”

Zohn was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2009 and underwent a stem cell transplant, according to the Associated Press. Cancer was discovered in his chest last month, and he’s now undergoing chemotherapy.

“I think in the cancer world, the general perception is that there are winners and losers,” he told People. “You either beat cancer and you win – or you don't and you die. But the reality of it is, I did everything in my power to beat cancer, and I did. But it came back. And that's okay, too.”

Zohn said he is still living a “fulfilled life” and is training for the New York City Marathon.
