In a YouTube video posted by icanditv, Barrino tells concert-goers in Jacksonville that she was initially worried about what people would think of her pregnancy.
“This child that I carry ... God has given me this child,” she said. “And I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.”
Barrino won “American Idol” in 2004. Since then, the singer starred on Broadway in “The Color Purple,” in her own Lifetime biopic and on a VH1 reality show. The Grammy-winner attempted suicide in 2010, amidst allegations that she had an affair with a married man.
The 27-year-old gave birth to her daughter Zion in 2001. She did not reveal details about her new child’s sex or paternity at the concert.
