FBI: Arrest made in celebrity phone, e-mail hacking case

Scarlett Johansson: an alleged victim of phone hacking. (Jennifer Graylock)
The FBI has made an arrest in the celebrity phone and e-mail hacking case the agency is calling “Operation Hackerazzi,” according to a press alert.

The agency has not confirmed which members of the entertainment industry were targeted. More details will be announced at a press conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Scarlett Johansson reportedly asked the FBI to investigate her nude photo leak this September. The case may involve up to 50 celebrities, including Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens.

The Associated Press reports that charges have been filed against one Florida man. The arrest comes after a year-long investigation into celeb computer and cell phone hacking.

Update: Christopher Chaney, a 35-year-old Florida man, has been indicted for computer hacking, aggravated identity theft and illegal wire-tapping. Read more from Celebritology.
