‘Figure It Out’ returning to Nickelodeon

Forty new episodes of “Figure It Out,” a fill-in-the-blank game show for kids, have been ordered by Nickelodeon, Deadline reports.

Hosted by Olympic swimmer Summer Sanders during the late 90s, the show challenged a panel of Nick celebrities to guess the kid contestant’s wacky talent or skill, which was usually something silly like teaching their pet hamster to swim.

Panelists — including Amanda Bynes, Danny Tamberelli, Lori Beth Denberg and current “SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson — would ask questions in order to fill in the blanks on a board named Billy the Answer Head. During the show, prizes (like a gift certificate to Kids Foot Locker!) were given out, people in jumpsuits would act out clues and slime would be dumped on the panelists’ heads for no good reason. It was a wonderful show.

No word on who will host the revived “Figure It Out,” although it’s hard to imagine anyone doing a better job than the upbeat gold medalist. Hopefully, Billy the Answer Head is available to return.

Update: Summer Sanders wrote this on her blog: “I am unsure at this time if I’ll be involved [with the new ‘Figure It Out’], but loved being part of the Nick family and would relish the opportunity to be part of the show's return.” She also tweeted this picture back in January:

Fingers crossed!
