Monday was a particularly great day to be a music loving American. In honor of Independence Day, big name music, screen and stage stars performed at PBS’s “Captiol Fourth” concert in D.C., Macy’s annual celebration in New York City and at the “Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular.”

On the west lawn of the Capitol building, actor Steve Martin showed off his impressive banjo skills, Josh Groban tried his hand at Simon and Garfunkel’s “America” and Little Richard went “Woo!”

“American Idol’s” Jordin Sparks sang “The Star Spangled Banner,” while “Glee’s” Matthew Morrison sang a duet with Broadway’s Kelli O’Hara.

Meanwhile in New York, Beyonce belted out “Proud to Be an American”and her new single, “The Best Thing I Never Had,” at “Macy’s Fourth of July.”

Martina McBride headlined the“Boston Pops” concert, after Lionel Richie had to cancel his performance because of an illness.

Watch performances from these patriotic artists after the jump. Go America!
