A mere 53 films were hand-picked from 1,929 submissions, and the just-announced slate (unsurprisingly) looks promising.

Gary Oldman rants against actor-athletes. Does this mean he hated ‘Kazaam’?

Gary Oldman has strong feelings about athletes who think that they can master the craft of acting as easily as they sink free throws. He has very strong feelings, the kind that made him go on a full-on rant in a video (found via Slashfilm and viewable below) that aired on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

His performance here is a reminder that: (a) Mr. Oldman is a master at spewing bottled-up rage, and (b) he has no hook shot in him whatsoever.

Based on his comments in the clip and the fact that Kimmel references Shaq just before Oldman’s bit starts, it seems fair to assume that this Academy Award-nominated actor is not a huge fan of “Kazaam.” Which is yet another commendable thing about him.

Watch him unleash his anger in the clip below, which — fair warning — contains some bleeped and pixellated profanities.
