George Clooney is a bachelor again.
The actor and his Italian girlfriend of two years, Elisabetta Canalis, confirmed that they had split Wednesday. “We are not together anymore,”the ex-couple said in a joint statement. “It’s very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”
The when and why of the breakup is not known. It’s possible that the confirmed bachelor and the actress disagreed on saying “I do.”
Canalis recently gave an interview to Italian magazine, “Chi,” where she said, ”I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am.”
The two ridiculously good looking people began dating in 2009 and went public with their love at the Venice Film Festival that year. They were last seen together at Clooney’s 50th birthday dinner in May, People reports.
