Giuliana Rancic underwent a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery Tuesday evening, her husband, Bill Rancic, told E!. The surgery was a success, and the TV personality “is doing really well,” he said.
“She had a little bit of pain through the night but is feeling much better this morning and was cracking jokes,” Bill Rancic told E!
The E! News host announced she was battling breast cancer in October. The 37-year-old underwent a double lumpectomy later that month, but then opted to have a mastectomy after the first surgery failed to remove all the cancer from one of her breasts.
Rancic told Wendy Williams she was “going to feel more like a woman” after her mastectomy: “I already feel like I have grown so much from this whole experience. I feel so much stronger. I feel cooler. And I think scars are beautiful. I think scars tell a story.”
