Golden Globe winners: Color Matt LeBlanc and Octavia Spencer surprised

Matt LeBlanc: as shocked as you were that he won a Golden Globe for “Episodes.” (Matt Sayles - AP)

Were you surprised that Matt LeBlanc won the Golden Globe for best actor in a TV comedy for playing himself on “Episodes”?

Even if you were, you may not have been as shocked as the former “Friends” star himself.

“Wow, I’m so nervous,” he said at one point as he thanked his agents, mother and fellow cast and crew members after rising to accept the honor with a look on his face that rivaled the one Joey Tribbiani displayed when he found out about Monica and Chandler.

Also in the surprised category: Octavia Spencer, who won the Globe for best supporting actress for her performance in “The Help” and fought back tears during her acceptance speech, during which she noted that she might fall right out of her high heels with shock.

The winner of the Globe for best TV comedy may not have been as surprising. (Hint: It wasn’t “Glee” and it’s a show about relatives best described as contemporary.) Read about it, as well as the other winners who have been deemed victorious since our last Celebritology update , below.

Best TV comedy: “Modern Family”

Best screenplay: “Midnight in Paris”

Best supporting actress, TV: Jessica Lange, “American Horror Story” (Yay, Constance!)

Best foreign language film: “A Separation”
