Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie expecting; see first pic of Kate Hudson and baby Bingham

Hilary Duff, the pop singer and one-time star of the Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire,” is expecting her first child with husband and Pittsburgh Penguins player Mike Comrie. Duff, 23, who married Comrie, 30, last year, announced the happy news on her official Web site. (People)

Matthew Bellamy tweeted the first picture of fiance Kate Hudson with their one-month-old son Bingham . He subsequently noted in his Twitter feed that he had hoped sharing the sweet photo would make paparazzi leave the family alone. “Wow, these paps are annoying,” he wrote. “Thought we’d tweet pic in hope of paps backing off, didn’t work!” (Twitter)

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland expressed her grief and condolences after the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair over the weekend. Five people died and dozens more were injured when the stage came down prior to a Sugarland performance, and shortly after fair officials told fans to take cover in anticipation of a pending thunderstorm. “There are no words to process a moment of this magnitude and gravity,” Nettles wrote on the duo’s Web site. “There are only prayers for peace in the hearts of the bereft, and prayers of thanksgiving for those who were spared or safe.” The Indiana State Fair is scheduled to reopen today. Sex and the City” may return as a TV show. Sarah Jessica Parker will allegedly produce. If this comes to pass, the Carrie Bradshaw television reboot would reportedly put plans for a movie prequel on hold. (Digital Spy)

After reportedly tense negotiations with AMC, “Breaking Bad” has been renewed for 16 more episodes, which will be the series’s final season. (Hollywood Reporter)

Disney has halted production of Johnny Depp’s “The Lone Ranger,” reportedly because the $200 million-plus budget was too high. Naturally, this is totally the fault of the poor performance of “Cowboys & Aliens.” (Deadline)

“The Real Housewives” of both New Jersey and New York are going on a mini-tour this fall, hitting Atlantic City, Chicago and Atlanta. Tickets begin at $49.50. What do you get for your money? I don’t know, the chance to see a bunch of rich women fighting onstage? Naturally, this is totally the fault of either Charlie Sheen, “Glee” or both. (THR)

In case you missed the news, Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner are engaged. Which is another way of saying that Amanda Woodward and Dr. Peter Burns of “Melrose Place”are getting married. This is Locklear’s third marriage and Wagner’s second. (The Scoop)
