Homer Simpson has already voted in the 2012 presidential election

Homer Simpson has already cast his vote in the 2012 presidential election.

In a new promotional clip for the upcoming Sept. 30 premiere of the 24th season of “The Simpsons” — that’s right, this show has been on the air for more seasons than “Mad Men,” “Modern Family,” “The Office” and “Breaking Bad” combined — Homer enters a voting booth and tries to make a choice between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

Or, as he calls them, the Democrat who offers him a “second wife telling me to eat healthy” and the Republican who “wears magic underwear” and invented Obamacare.

The man formerly known as Mr. Plow makes his decision, casts his vote and then — in a nice coincidence, given today’s news — gets a digital copy of a certain person’s tax return. Then something alarming happens.

Just watch for yourself. And know that Marge Simpson does not necessarily approve this message.
