Hugh Grant was reportedly “deep into final negotiations” to replace Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men” before ultimately deciding to turn down the role.
Grant was offered $1 million per episode to join the Sheen-less reboot of the CBS sitcom but walked away because of “creative differences,” Deadline reports.
Grant seems like an unusual choice, although he and Sheen technically do have something in common. (Hint: It rhymes with ros-titute.)
The nature of Grant’s role was not revealed. But we’ll just pretend he was supposed to play a roguish British cousin of Jon Cryer’s Alan, who suddenly shows up on Alan’s doorstep hung over and inexplicably dressed like Austin Powers.
