In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, a dose of ‘The Commitments’

On this St. Patrick’s Day, you may be asking yourself: What’s the best Irish movie ever made? Besides “Rattle and Hum” and “Leprechaun,” that is?

Great question. Fortunately, the answer is obvious: “The Commitments,” the story of a Dublin soul band and a movie that celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. So while you’re wearing green, drinking Guiness and engaging in the many other cliche St. Patrick’s Day activities that we all hold dear, enjoy this clip of Andrew Strong and the gang doing “In the Midnight Hour.”

If you have a working knowledge of “The Commitments,” you probably can guess that there’s a touch of NSFW (and very working-class Irish) language in the video. Keep that in mind, and enjoy.
