Jay-Z releases new song about baby Blue Ivy in which he reveals Beyonce’s previous miscarriage

Jay-Z is a very proud and, as ever, musically prolific papa.

In keeping with the latter reputation, the rapper has released a touching ode to his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy, on his Web site. The track arrived online today, just two days after she reportedly made her much-anticipated arrival at New York City’s Lenox Hill Hospital.

In “Glory,” Jay-Z calls his first child with wife Beyonce his “greatest creation.”

“The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue. My greatest creation was you.”

Jay-Z also raps about, “False alarms and false starts, all made better by the sound of your heart.” He later reveals that Beyonce previously suffered a miscarriage, information that was never publicly shared until now.

“Last time the miscarriage was tragic / We was afraid you'd disappear, but nah baby you're magic.”

He also delivers a line that has officially become the greatest father quote ever: “You’re my child with the child from Destiny’s Child.”

If your eyes haven’t already gotten watery at any point, perhaps the song-closing audio of Blue crying will do you in. The infant — who Jay-Z describes as having a “pinch of Hov, a whole glass of Bey” — can be heard wailing softly at the end of the track, which credits her as B.I.C. (Two days old and she already has a cool hip-hop nickname.)

We still may not know what Blue Ivy looks like, but now we at least have some idea of how she sounds.

Grab some tissues and listen to “Glory,” which contains a few NSFW lyrics and is destined to show up on every labor and delivery playlist created by expectant parents from this day forward. Audio can be found here.

Update: Beyonce and Jay-Z have released a statement to Us Weekly about their daughter, confirming her name and date of birth: “She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.”
