The actress who played good girl gone Patrick Swayzed, Baby Houseman, tweeted her support: “I love [Kenny Ortega] and trust that he will do something special.” Lionsgate announced it would remake the classic film with original choreographer Kenny Ortega directing.

She also released this statement in the Wall Street Journal:

I’m so excited about this news and I think there’s nobody better to do this than my beloved Kenny Ortega who is as responsible as anyone for the success of the first one.  I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do with it.

I’m sorry, Jennifer Grey, but the correct response is, “No! This is a travesty! Ahhhh!” Celebritology’s Jen Chaney felt that way, asking, “Is there any way this is remotely a good idea???”

Readers agreed with Chaney: 86 percent of our poll takers thought the remake is “The worst idea I’ve ever heard.” A measly 6 percent were for the idea. Apparently, you’re in good company of 6 percent of Celebritology readers.
