Jeremy Renner was not attacked or injured at a pub in Thailand, as earlier reports from local news outlets and TMZ claimed.
A rep for the “Mission Impossible” actor said in a statement that Renner was at a bar in Phuket when a violent fight broke out early Thursday morning, but exited after it began. He was not injured, as other reports alleged.
According to The Phuket News, Renner was with five people at the bar when police say “a minor misunderstanding,” most likely caused by a member of his group dropping a glass, led six male employees to attack them.
One of the men with Renner — the manager of a local resort — was stabbed with a pocket knife and slashed with a homemade axe, as was his chauffeur. Both men are in stable condition, according to The Phuket News. The six employees of the bar were charged with attempted murder.
