Jermaine Jackson backs off in family feud; Karl Lagerfeld has issues with Pippa Middleton

A morning mix of entertainment headlines...

Jermaine Jackson: seeking family harmony. (Ronald Zak - AP)

Jermaine Jackson is taking a step back from the family feud over brother Michael Jackson’s estate. On Wednesday, he tweeted a link to a lengthy statement in which he said he rescinds his signature from the letter issued two weeks ago by himself and several siblings, alleging that the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate committed fraud. “I still hold deep reservations about many issues involving the Estate, and I will continue to bring scrutiny and a resolute voice wherever we have cause for concern,” he wrote. “But the way to address such matters is through the proper channels and via a private dialogue, not public conflict.” (Twitlonger; New York Daily News)

The always opinionated Karl Lagerfeld, the same designer who once criticized Adele for being “a little too fat,” has disparaged the face of Pippa Middleton. In The Sun, Lagerfeld is quoted as follows: “Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette, and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties. On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.” The dis prompted the following BBC America headline, which probably sums up most people’s feelings about Lagerfeld’s comments: “Do Shut Up About Pippa Middleton, Karl Lagerfeld!” (The Sun ; BBC America’s Anglophenia blog)

Taylor Swift is officially dating Conor Kennedy. Family matriarch Ethel Kennedy has given the relationship her official stamp of approval and everything. (Us Weekly; TV Column)

January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks and Vincent Kartheiser are reportedly close to signing deals that will keep them on “Mad Men” for the show’s final two seasons. So more Peggy, more Joan, more Pete and, yes, more Betty! (The Hollywood Reporter)

During a Television Critics Association session on “The Newsroom,” Aaron Sorkin says he did not fire any of his writers nor did he keep an ex-girlfriend on staff, as previously reported. Oh, and Jeff Daniels potentially offends every writer in the room. (TV Column)

Very proud that the reporter who tops this list of the Nine Major Journalists of Nerd-dom is a woman. You can probably figure out who that woman is before you read the list. (Topless Robot via Fark)

Watch Brad Pitt go gangster alongside Tony Soprano and Henry Hill from “Goodfellas” in the trailer for “Killing Them Softly.”
