It looks like the residents of Italy will have to wait a bit longer to be wowed by the current darlings of American reality television.
Negotiations between MTV and the “Jersey Shore” stars, who are said to be holding out for more cash before making the previously announced April 18 departure to Florence, have pushed back production in Italia for at least a month, RadarOnline reports. Another point of contention has been the network’s unwillingness to let the cast freely schedule personal appearances, which can run up to $40,000 a pop. (In one shining example, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently appeared at Rutgers University for $32,000. Commencement speaker and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Toni Morrison will get $30,000 when she takes the stage May 15.)
Producers are apparently having a difficult time scheduling party locales for the rowdy crew. Florence, the capital of Tuscany, will be “Shore’s” Italy home base.
How much do you think this cast is worth?
