Jessica Simpson is now officially a mom.

The fashion mogul/actress/singer and her fiance, Eric Johnson, welcomed their daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, into the world today, Simpson announced on her Web site.
”We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received,” the pink-hued announcement said. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!”
Simpson, currently seen guiding aspiring designers on NBC’s “Fashion Star,” also disseminated the baby news via her Twitter account, the same platform she used to confirm back in October that she and Johnson were expecting her first child. (That announcement, as you may recall, was much less pink and featured more of a Halloween theme.)
In March, Simpson, 31, confirmed to Elle magazine that she was expecting a daughter. She also said she and Johnson, 32 and a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, had chosen an unconventional name for her.
Does Maxwell qualify as unconventional, though? Yes, it’s traditionally a boy’s name. But after that bit of baby name foreshadowing, I was expecting something like Moonbeam Lint Tray Johnson. Maxwell falls somewhere in the general area of normal on the celeb baby name spectrum, if you ask me.
Anyway, now that Simpson Baby Watch is over, everyone can move on to other matters ... like Maxwell Drew Baby Picture Watch and Simpson/Johnson Wedding Watch (the pair got engaged back in November 2010)
