Jessica Simpson confirms she is pregnant, no one is surprised

Jessica Simpson displays her baby bump as she is dressed as a “mummy.” (AP/JessicaSimpson.com) Jessica Simpson has confirmed what was becoming increasingly obvious news: she is pregnant.

The singer and actress informed her Twitter followers that she had an “!!!ANNOUNCEMENT!!!” on Monday, tweeting a link to her Web site. Simpson confirmed the news with the post, “It’s true — I’m going to be a mummy,” accompanied by a picture of herself wrapped in white bedazzled cloth holding her baby-bump.

This Halloween pun-tastic confirmation ends months of speculation, which reached a fever pitch last week as pictures of an obviously pregnant Simpson hit the Web.

This is the first child for Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson. The couple got engaged last November.
