Joe and Tina Simpson, the parents of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, are reportedly ending their marriage.
Tina Simpson — who has been married to her husband for more than three decades — filed divorce papers in Texas on Sept. 24, according to Us Weekly. A family rep released a statement that confirmed the news.
“It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved,” the statement said. “Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”
Joe Simpson — a former minister who has focused his energies on managing the careers of his daughters — has not posted anything on his Twitter feed for the past two days. So far, the rest of the Simpson family has also refrained from comment on the divorce.
