Jon Hamm, Adam Scott and Paul Rudd starred in, literally, ‘The Greatest Event in Television History’

The greatest event in television history aired Thursday night.

No, I’m not talking about that home run hit by Washington National Jayson Werth, although that was, indeed, pretty awesome.

I refer to an Adult Swim show actually called “The Greatest Event in Television History,” starring Jon Hamm, Adam Scott, Paul Rudd, Gus Van Sant, Kathryn Hahn, Jeff Probst, Paul Scheer and Megan Mullally. Naturally, “The Greatest Event in Television History” is only 15 minutes long, contains a couple of slightly NSFW moments and revolves around the recreation of the opening titles sequence from “Simon & Simon,” featuring Scott as Jameson Parker (AJ) and Hamm as Gerald McRaney (Rick).

Please note that this should not be confused with Hamm’s recreation of the Til Tuesday video “Voices Carry,” although the two clearly belong in the same ‘80s restaging genre. Watch the very funny short below, now in a format that really demands that its title be changed to “The Greatest Event in Online Television History.”

And for comparison’s sake:
